    Default Horseshoe Lake

Does anyone know what the water level is at Horseshoe right now. I haven't been to Horseshoe in over a year because of the low water and problems launching in about 6 inches of water. Is there water in the canals now or are they still dry? Also, if anyone has fished the lake lately, how did you do. I have only fished the lake for crappie a couple of times but I always had pretty good luck bass fishing there.

    Thanks for any replys.

    Angry horseshoe lake

The water is still way below normal, but there is now plenty of water as far as launching goes. I have a 18 ft. xpress boat and have no problem launching.
As far as fishing for crappie, IT'S ON!!! We went yesterday used 6 dozen minnows and ran out around 2:00. Troll in 25-26 foot of water, with your bait about 1-2 ft. off the bottom. We loaded the boat with plenty of 3/4 to 1 1/2 pounders!!. If I didn't have office work I had to do this morning, I guarantee you I would have gone back. There must have been 25 or more boats trolling yesterday. There are also a lot of numbers being caught in shallow water around the piers, but generally run smaller than what the trollers are catching.
    Good luck

    Default saturday at horseshoe

We did not do as good as hudnut. We only caught 15 on saturday. Lots of boats with only a few of them catching good numbers of fish.

is there still a bait shop before you turn off to go to camp carefree ramp? I used to bowfish horseshoe years ago when they had lots of water but haven't been over since the water has been down.

Yes, Bonds store. Great people! Water is back up a little, and trollers are catching a few! Weather has turned the shallower bite off a little.
