Actually, it has been my experience that 542 is about average for the lake. You have to remember that Greeson's primary purpose is flood control followed by hydoelectric generation. 548msl is full generating pool. I've seen it as low as the 530's by the end of long, hot summer and last January we got a huge rain and it crested at 556. They hold the lake a little low to catch all the spring rains. The last few years they have done a great job holding the lake 542 or better for the spawn.
