Didn't get there until about 3pm. We only caught 5, but it sure was a beautiful afternoon! Met Gutshot at the landing.

Makes me feel a little better. I left about 1:00----afraid I left about when they started biting. Gave my fish to a couple of guys who had struck out at Horseshoe.

It was a pleasure to meet you Polebender. I wish I had more time to talk to you but I needed to get back to Alabama. We fished from about 10:00 to 2:30 and only caught 7. The fish picked up at abouut 1:45 but I had to go. We caugh them all suspended 2 to 3 feet around structure in 8 to 10 feet of water. They seemed to prefer black/chartreuse jigs. I did notice that all but one of them had eggs and the veigns are were starting in around them. Water surface got up to 52 degrees. It won't be long if the weather holds up. The weather could not have been any better.

That's a shame guys. I figured them crappie would've been jumpin' in the boat today, especially since I couldn't be out there.:D You will have to be sure to get back over here soon, Gut Shot. Once you make it out there on a good day...you'll never be able to leave...

We changed our mind on burnt cane and ended up in a private reservoir. Caught 7 crappie and 30 little bass trolling. Just big enough to fillet. Not as good as crappie but will have to do. Burnt Cane will turn on soon, I am sure.

    Thumbs up

I am very impressed with the lake Chris. I really appreciate all of the trouble that you went through to give me all of that valuable information. I will be back there soon and often. You can count on that. The drive was only about 4 hours for me and that cuts off about 2 hours each way from when I go to Old Town Lake and it has deeper water than Old Town. That lake has everything you could ask for in a crappie lake and from what I saw this weekend if the weather holds steady over there it should start getting right in about 2 weeks.
