    Default Best Crappie Lake in the West?


    What are your guys opinion of the best crappie lake on the western side of the state? More specifically western Ar north of Mena.

    Looks like you could hit lakes Dequeen, Dierks, Gillham, Ouachita, and possibly Blue Mt within a hour of Mena. Of those I think Ouachita has the reputation of producing the largest crappie but all are worth a visit. Not sure how far Greeson is but obviously thats a good producer as well. Blue Mt is a hidden gem from what I've heard as well.

    Keep us posted wherever you launch an give us a report. If I cant be out there fishing I sure do enjoy a report from someone who is.

    I posted the answers on the other question you asked. Waldron city and Hinkle. Waldron city has very little structure because it is a water user lake and Hinkle is full of standing timber. So bring a few hooks or a boat load. I'll be fishing one of both of these lakes today.
