Boo Mat side image
Put out nine bamboo mats on Saturday.
Here is a side image of one of them...if I can remember how to reduce the size of a photo and post.

Thanks for the re-post of the pic. It's a little blurry, but you can see how much coverage these mats provide.
This one was built according to Jerry and Daryl's plan on Jerry's habitat webpage.
I think they are perfect for those of us who fish skinny water.

These were put in a private lake, but you don't need waypoints anyway, you're always welcome to hop in with me!
One more point on these mats....
I was using 25 foot stalks. I cut 10' off the bottom, leaving 15' for the condo. By the time you put 15 footers in both sides, you have about 25' of straight line coverage. By making the X, you have a little over 600 square feet of "footprint" coverage. You can see from the graph, that the boo rises up quite a ways. it would take someone with better calculation skills to figure the total volume of coverage.
After putting out the mats, I cut the remaining stalks into 5' pieces and made stake beds along the shore line.
