I'm here... Just wrapping up alittle work before we head to Greeson for a few days. I will be introducing a young man to Crappie fishing this weekend. I hope Jerry and Darryl have the fish biting. Hope everyone has a great new year. And good luck to the Hogs on the 1st.

I am still around. Not many stories to tell. Been doing a little duck hunting and bow hunting. On most occasions, I don't catch alot of fish, but I am finding I am alot better crappie fisherman than a duck/bow hunter!

I have been here too. I have been checking twice a day to see what is happening. Maybe; Just maybe, I might get a day to fish this long weekend. But first I have to go see Elmo, Bert, and Earnie tonight.

Allen, I didn't realize what a sportsman you are. I have never been duck hunting on purpose in my life. But, I think I would use a shotgun instead of a bow.:p

LOL -- Good one, Don. This I know...I get just as cold crappie fishing as I do duck hunting...which is one reason I gave up duck hunting so I can spend my free time freezing doing only one thing. Maybe I'll see you out on the LM Saturday morning.

I'm still around and will begin to have more time to spend hunting and fishing after the first of the year. Ran into some mad money the wife is not aware of so I will have some new equipment to try out soon. I cant wait to get back in a position to go more often thus tell more lies.

I did get to take my son hunting yesterday with his first gun and we had a hoot. My father bought him a 410/22 single shot that you switch the barrels out on. The expression on his face when he pulled the trigger on that shotgun for the first time was priceless. We saw over 20 deer that afternoon though most were from the truck and, we passed up a shot at a 6 point so it was a great day. I just wish the does in the food plot would have come a little closer. I just didnt think he could pull off a 50 yard shot with a slug, plus I questioned if it would be effective at that range. Oh well he is already talking about how big that 6 point will be next year and how were just going to go back to that blind and shoot him opening day next year.

I've been board out of my mind!
Beaver has slowed quite a bit and my favorite hot water lake is closed for repairs until next week. I need to go fishing!

That is funny, I was thinking the same thing, Bow hunting for ducks, I have seen them on the outdoor channel bow hunting pheasants. I do good to hit the block 4X4 at 30 yards, I would never try to shoot at a duck. well if he was just sitting in the water maybe.....lol....
You can't fish with a hung line!
