    Default Big deer

This is a deer killed by a guy at work, may be a new Ark record. I think it was killed around Forrest City. It scored 202 5/8

Wow, that is one helleva deer. I think that is zone four, I know thay have and day or so slug hunt, but it is mostly bow hunting. It has been a long time since I have looked at regulations for that area

Wow, what a trophy. I'm not much of a hunter but I was able to take my younger son, Levi, this Saturday. Clay Crump, the owner of Kirby Landing Marina, put us in one of his stands on his farm. We made it an afternoon hunt and just before shooting light was gone an 8-point and 2 does walked out on a food plot about 200 yards away. This was Levi's first hunt and it was perfect. I told him about the adrineline rush but it didn't do until he experienced it for himself. I thought he was going to hyperventilate, lol. He made the shot and missed. We stayed put and I really didn't think any more deer would show up. About five minutes later a big doe stepped into the food plot. He made the long shot and got a hit. He took a third shot on a small doe I didn't see with the first doe and missed. Needless to say, I just knew we'd find the first doe laying just on the back side of the food plot, but she wasn't there. We trailed her for a long way in the dark but didn't find her. We lost the trail and concluded it was most likely a flesh wound. At any rate, I thought he did great on his first hunt and I was really proud of him working safely around such long shots.

Thats good to hear that he is interested in deer hunting. Now you are right about the adreneline rush, you just caint explain it enough to them, til they get the rush themselves..... Now another thing you have to make him realize is that he MAY NOT see a deer every time he gets on the stand. Thanks for the story.
