We have some of the BassMasters tournaments here in the dead of summer. I believe that is the reason you see the fish being put in tanks on a pontoon voat and released away from where the event is being held.

Little discussion here on Mother Nature, spawns, etc. Almost as if there is an infinite supply of fish. To me, it has always been cyclical and I try to stay in tune as best as possible. If they ain’t biting, try somewhere else. I know a big time Arkie pro bass angler who rarely fishes in state because our lakes stink compared to surrounding ones.

If we would all be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us a sportsmen it would be a non issue. Sadly with the pollutants that have made it into the environment and warnings on consumption of fish from a lot of the lakes. And the fact that older fish have lived longer in that environment taking in those pollutants. Over indulgence could very well take care of itself
I don’t get to fish a lot because of work but took off Tuesday and went to Nimrod. Went up river to find stake beds and brush that someone put out years ago. Live scope and way points took me to the spots Fish were three feet away from the brush piles.
Dropped my Jimmy Joe blue and white jig down to them and it was on. Fished three piles and four stake beds. I believe I caught at least fifty, that’s just a guess l didn’t own a counter. Swung them in with my Bucks Ultra Light and Jimmy Joe blue and white jig. They were only six to ten inches though. As I was headed back to first brush pile saw something on the bottom, thought it was a catfish but dropped old blue on its nose and bam had to net him 15 inch crappie. Started searching the bottom and put 21 more in the ice chest 13 to 15.5 long. Guess I got lucky but I believe there are lots of big crappie in the lake if you look in the right places. Only saw four boats but it was a work day. I think there are more fishermen now than three years ago and will be more fishermen three years from now than they are now. Just makes sense to me. Couldn’t decide what to do with them, haven’t cleaned a crappie in a while. Decided to keep them because a lot of people do. Took them home cleaned and cut up and gave to a older woman that can’t go and wanted some. My wife
I'm sorely afraid that if the economic climate continues on the course it appears to be speeding along: The decimation of fish and wildlife across the nation will become a rapidly approaching reality, as people turn to hunting, fishing, and even poaching to survive. This has happened repeatedly throughout our nation's history, and, as has been said by others, much smarter than me: "Those who fail to learn from a history of stupidity... are destined to repeat it."
The way I see it is if theres enough money to be made from crappie fishing as they are in bass fishing any and every one that has a monatary stake in it will invest millions of dollars as they did with bass.even the game and fish depts from almost every state has raised and stocked bass for many years to keep that game going. I think that the same will happen with crappie also thats my thinking on it..
Go to your nearest Wal-Mart and watch the people waddle in and out. Our country has problems, but mass starvation ain’t one of em![emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
