Glad to hear the young ones are getting a second start. I know you will enjoy them being around. Your willingness to take care of them sounds like a blessing for them. I know kids can "bounce" pretty hard and just get back up like nothing happened, I pray that they will get to smile and laugh with you every chance ya'll get to.

Yep, you can give my grandfather a call to discuss proper hook removal...:D

I'm glad that things are finally starting to happen. The children usually fall by the wayside in these situations, and that is the worst thing about it. Good to know that the children will be well taken care of now. Good luck, Don.

Glad to hear things are getting better. The invite to fish is still open . Thank goodness those kids have you in their life. Drugs and Alcohol are ruining too many families . Talk to them about the dangers of abuse when they get old enough. I think education and awareness is the key to slowing this epidemic of drug abuse.

It only gets better. Adam called me yesterday morning sobbing and telling me he was ready to leave the demon and start a new life. I thought it was just another con to ask for money to get his truck out of impound. But, then I realized he has never cried before. After we talked for a while he asked for help finding a treatment center. He checked himself into one of his own choosing. It is not the one I would have picked out for him. But, he has made a step toward being decent. I let him do it all himself. All I did was chaufer. I couldn't be more proud and happier with the turn of events this week. I will admit I lost hope. But, God is taking care of all of this in his own time and way.

Great news, DP. It is an immensely big step for him to make the decision for himself. However, take it as just that...a step. Don't give up if he falls back down. Give him my best wishes, and tell him that HE is the only one that can overcome his disease...

That is good news DrPepper. Prayer does amazing things. Just when you think all is lost, all is found. God arrives on the scene right on time. I know a woman in our church who prayed for her husband for 5 years to quit drinking and other stuff, now he teaches Sunday School! Just NEVER give up. Good luck and have a grea time watching the kids grow.

    Hey Don:

I haven't had much time to spend on the boards lately but this is the best thread I've seen in a long time. It's really good to hear that things are headed in a positive direction. Tell Adam we're pulling for him to get on the right track.
