    Default Washing Machine

Nimrod was like a washing machine this morning between the wind and all the boat traffic. I still brought in 14 nice fish and released a bunch of dinks. They seemed to like the Black/Chartruse and the Pink/White tubes today. Where were you Slabbandit ?

My wife wanted to explore some areas we have not seen on Quachita Sunday. And I wanted to check out some condos I put out a few weeks ago. I found out that what I thought was 30' of water turned out to be closer to 40. I put them out with the toon boat. Maybe they will produce later in the summer or winter. One I placed is in 30' of water however. I could see fish on my sonar and was all excited. They kept pulling the skirt down on my jig so I figure I have placed a nursery for dink bream to raise on. I managed to catch a few off of some beds though. They sure were some fine eating fresh from the water to the grease. Exploring caused us to launch at Quachita resort and we ended up in my familiar waters out of Crystal Springs. The ride back was an adventure to say the least. The chop was indescribable as we crossed the Mountain Harbor traffic lanes. I know there were 4' swells, some of which we went through instead of over. I don't usually wear my life jacket. But, we had them on this time.
Oh Yeah...we were in the panfisher, not the toon boat.

Dr Pepper your a brave man to take the panfisher on that area of Ouachita Memorial Day weekend. I let em have it Saturday and Sunday then went for the day yesterday. I bet we met 100+ boats on the way up to the lake yesterday and had the area from Navy to 46 pretty much to ourselves. The only fishing I did was with a buddys 5 year old daughter. She and I sat on the back of my toon and wore out the little bullhead catfish. She was catching them as fast as I could bait the hook.
