You are sooooo wrong! I can speak from personal experience, these fish (when prepared right) are probably up there with crappie and walleye...in my opinion! I used to live with a Cajun that knew how to cook fish I tell ya...we would slaughter a couple big ones and cube the meet about 1" cubes, then soak overnight to get the 'fishy' taste out and he'd cook them up they were tasty...mmm mmm good! The catch with stripers are you MUST cut the red strip of meat out that runs along the mid-section from the organs to the tail. with a GOOD filet knife you can just make a v-cut about .25" deep and pull the entire strip off, with a REAL GOOD filet knife you can just shave the red meat out as if you were 'widdlin' the bark off a small limb with a pocket knife.

This is all my opinion....those fish are GREAT to eat....let's 'ask the audience?'

Minnowman when things calm down for me we got to get together and do a night stalk. Is it still goog at night in july or do they turn off with the summer heat. I didn't make it to crappie camp like I wanted to but this summer I want to fish Beaver at night and troll for stripers during the day.

Hey Barndog listen...when the time is right, I'll let you know...we are night stalking for the next 3 days on Beaver...last night didn't have a whole lot of luck due to Crown Royal and Budweiser, but we had a blast nevertheless...MM
