Chris, ever tried a porcupine quill? We used to go down to Lake Grampus on memorial day with flyrods and WEAR THEM OUT using crickets and a porcupine quill as a float. It would lay darn near flat on the water and when one end of it would slowly raise, set the hook!

And bw, I've heard of the old quill technique, although I've never personally seen it in action. Those bream the other day were biting almost too lightly for my set-up. I guess you can't get much more sensitive than that quill.
