Hard to beat crushed crackers. The clarity of your trap can make a difference, the old glass traps were the best. In a river place the entrance hole downstream just below a rock or obstruction with a little Eddie current works well. Sometimes it takes a while but once you trap a few and the crackers begin drifting downstream the minnows will soon storm the trap. They are often pretty shy so stay out of sight and that usually is the way to go. Have fun and save some money!
