Went yesterday and did pretty well. Several crappie and a couple decent bass. Filled up a gallon bag in the freezer. Got on the water right at 7:00 but didn’t catch a fish until almost 9:00. Is that normal for the fish to not bite until a little later in the morning?

Filling a gallon bag is better than pretty well. Congrats. As far as what time I think it just depends on what the fish want. They are subject to turn on or off at any time.

Pretty common for them to start off slow in winter for me . Sometimes Crappie hug bottom and cover tight till sun warms up some . I see them get more active on livescope on some days after it warms up and move up in water even above brush ..
