Yep, the last drawdown, which was several years ago didn’t go as planned. We had an issue with the water control structure and then we had a little drought after the drawdown as well and the lake stayed low for a few years. The first few years after that, the fishery wasn’t in the best shape. But things have since turned around. Last winter angler fishing reports were overwhelmingly positive. I think the lake has rebounded. That was definitely an atypical drawdown. Sometimes unforeseen issue happen that we don’t have control over. The reality is that the infrastructure on our AGFC lakes that are 50+ years old are starting to have problems. These issues need to be addressed proactively rather than reactively to avoid having more problems. Just my opinion.
