I will make the Nimrod event but I'll be cashing in my empty beer cans for the gas money. The May trip is gonna have to be pretty local for me to stay within my fishin' budget, the price of go juice is tearing me up.
I've never even tried crappie fishing Lake Maumelle, sounds like a good challenge. Do they even let you dump "structure" in that lake?

Hey J, I hear you on the gas prices...My truck stays thirsty these days...:D
And, it is illegal to place any kind of structure in Lake Maumelle, but there are some spots that people have dropped structure previously.
And BW, I think we are gonna try to steer away from the weekend of the 19th because of the NWA camp. I know that doesn't leave us with many options. I do like the idea of branching out on the AR river.

Didn't realize that Ceb. That leaves either the 12th or the 26th. My new vote is 26th :D
-
let me know what you guys decide I'd like to sneak back down that way.

The 26th is Memorial Day weekend. Most of the lakes will have lots of camps and boaters and such. Lookin for new spots on the river sounds good to me. I fished some backwater up around Plarm Ck (I think that is the name) boat ramp years ago and fished a big lay down tree and did well. They say you don't want to leave your truck there now.
The only other place on the river that I know is Tar Camp. But have never fished it.

Dang, forgot about Memorial Day. This weekend seems the only available due to nw crappie camp, then memorial day weekend.

Sorry, I haven't been on here much lately. DeGray is probably not the place you will want to go right now unless you wanted to troll for whites and hybrids. I haven't been on it in months but the reports I've gotten are that the crappie are so scattered due to high water that catch rates are way down. Hamilton is really not an option anymore and the fishing there has been extremely poor for months now. Plus, the boat traffic has already gotten unbarable. Jerry and I are not guiding on Hamilton any more and don't even feel comfortable enough to take family or friends fishing there for the fear of getting a ticket or our boats impounded by the Coast Guard. So, Greeson is really the only option I could help ya'll out on and a campout with night stalk would be fun right now so long as we dodged the evening thunderstorms.

I really want to attend, however, I can't travel much past LR. The distance and time element is just too great. I would be happy to bring a stake bed to plant somewhere. Wherever you choose, just let me know. Had a good day on BS up in MO last Friday with Longliner. His old fishing partner was kind of mad that I took her place in the boat. His partners name is Daphine, and is a 170 pound English dog of some kind. But she is BIGGGGG.

Are we doing anything in May? I can't fish but I could probably be forced to eat a fillet or 3. :D

Slick its not looking good for a May gathering. We automaticaly loose two weekends in May due to the NWA crappie camp and Memorial Day. So that only leaves this comming weekend availabe. My bet is to get planning our June trip to Nimrod. I know I personaly am going to challenge all that come to bring a condo or two for our gracious host Nimrod and Slabbandit to sink for us in some prime waters. They are planning to bait up some cat holes for those interested and the food and fellowship should be great as always.
What are your thoughts on the subject? I know your ready to try out that sweet new boat of yours.
