    Default Bull Shoals

Fished the bull hard yesterday. No crappie, but did catch a couple of small mouth and one goggle eye. The bait place only had medium minnows, and they were way too big, but used them anyhow. Should have saved my money. Crappie minnows are a little hard to come by here for some reason. The weather has been really bad for a few days and kept me off the lake. Yesterday a small window was open in the morning, but by afternoon the wind was whipp'n the water. Supposed to clear up tomorrow, and I think I will get my brother-in-law and head out for a catfish night and maybe set a trotline.:p

Well flyflinger, that's just fishing there. That is probably one of the toughest lakes to learn, in my opinion. I know if it was me, I'd be in a world of trouble trying to find fish on that lake. Like Gooch says, I don't think I have enough line on my poles to fish up there...:D

Good luck with the cats tomorrow and be sure to give us a report...

Hey flyflinger, PLEASE do not give up on Bull Shoals. Yes it can be a bit ruff at times to find the fish but she WILL reward you for your effort. I've fished this lake for along time and at times I swore I would never come back but I stuck with it and now I can usually find the fish. Because of a illness in the family I haven't got down there like I had told you before, but I've got the rv loaded and I'am leaving Monday for the Theodosia arm. I've still got your number and will give you a call as soon as I get set up. Before the summer is over you will be catching fish!!!!

Good to hear from you again longliner. I'll be looking for your call. My wife and daughter were out yardsaling a couple of weeks ago and found a real stand of boo. Wife and I went there today and I cut a bunch, filled a 10' trailer (had 10 foot hanging off the back. I'm going to try to build some condos this weekend unless I go fishing. Lets see, fishing, make condos, fishing, make condos, fishing. Well fishing wins!

It's going to be great weather this weekend so I don't blame you one bit. Save the condo making for another day. Have you tryed to troll any small crankbaits yet? I really enjoy trolling on Bull with small cranks, you never know what you'll catch.

Hey flyflinger, you said you might go catfishing this weekend so I thought I show you some cats I caught last May on the Bull.

Default Speakin of new condos on the Bull

Sorry for taking so long to post these, Flyflinger. Better late than never...

Here's a couple of pics of prime crappie habitat added to the Bull by Flyflinger. They should be some good producers. I hope you didn't do like DP and take 'em apart half a dozen times to get 'em just right...Hahaha:D

Either way, they're lookin' good and I hope that they are producing very soon for you. And, you'd better get started on building more soon as you can never have too many condos...

Thanks for posting the pictures Chris. I put out the stake beds today, now I am going to make some more. I found a couple of coves that are crying for them. Hope to put in 30 or so over summer. I do think I'll make the condos a little shorter. I have noticed a big fluction in the lake level over the last few days. All the rain has raised the lake about a foot and a half. Fished today after the condo drop but did no good. Only a couple of small ones. But I went out to drop cover and the fishing was a bonus. Thanks for the pictures of the cats Longliner. I realy enjoyed our visit and fishing trip. Hope we do it again soon. Cant wait for walleye time.
