    Default Ode to Arkansas

I moved from AR to Connecticut at the end of last summer. Boy do I miss the good ole Natural State! The nice clean rivers and lakes! Warm weather!
Its too cold for me to go fishing up here. And all the rivers are filthy. I would drink out of the Arkansas River before even wading out in the rivers around here. By this time last year I had already been on a guided trip on lake greeson. No such luck here. I am so bored since I cannot fish that I have to go to the gym for something to do.....yeah, you heard me, the gym!
Well I just thought I wold tell you all to appreciate good ole Arkansas. You dont know what you have until it is gone!!!

You know, I never did hear of anyone retiring to Connecticut. Must be a reason for that. Give me a cold clear mountain stream over a dirty river anytime. Come on back, the road runs south too.

Way too young to retire. Got out of the Air Force (after growing up in AR and being stationed there). My wife is from up here and I make more money as an Air Traffic Controller up here, but I am glad my parents live on Greers Ferry Lake, so when I visit I have a lake at my disposal (and the Little Red River), I did have some Turkeys strutting across the runway this week, it was neat, but you cannot hunt turkeys on a runway!!! I prefer the Arkansas Outdoors over this "big city" life anyday!!! I will be back eventually!

Some things like money are'nt worth, giving up what you love. I'm an Arkansan and will die here I guess. There have been visits all around the country and none of them would I move to. Better think about your future and quality of your kids lives. Money is'nt everthing even though it makes things easier. Happiness can be simple things like the outdoors. Things that most of us take for granted.

I have lived in several states. But, it wasn't until I moved to Arkansas that I caught myself saying "I am going home" after a trip. I still have some Texas in my veins though.
