First, a big thanks to Jerry and Daryl for letting us rent the RV. It was great to be right there on the water. Also a big thanks for loaning us some of those Rosy Reds! Those little guys were the ticket this week and we appreciate them letting us dig into their stash! We got in at 3 AM saturday (Apr. 1). Managed to get on the water about 9 and faced a totally new lake neither my partner nor I had ever seen or fished. We really struggled Saturday. I think we only had 4 fish all day...with one bonus 20 inch walleye. On Sunday we struggled again..only 6 fish all day. We spoke with Jerry and/or Daryl about every morning and began Monday to put the pattern together. We ended up with 18 Monday. On Tuesday we went back after the same pattern and boated 31 beautiful fish with 3 of them topping 2 pounds. We followed up Wednesday with 22 more. Im guessing, and i dont exagerate on the size of out fish, that out of the 85 or so fish we caught, 75% of them were 1.25 to 1.5 pounds. Lots of fish in the 14 inch range. Most still full of eggs. Water temps were around 70. We found the fish in about 5-6 feet of water fishing no less than 4 feet deep with the Rosy Reds. We enjoyed this beautiful lake and thanks again to Jerry and Daryl for their help and hospitality.
