That is one hard lake to fish. I have not had much luck, but when I have had luck, it was hot and the fish were DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. I have only used jigs there, but you may want to ask someone that goes to that lake all the time.

Just got back from Norfork Lake today and man was it tuff. A couple of suggestions that I can give you are make sure you have a good lake map with all crib signs on it. {put up by the core}. All new brush piles were installed wher signs were origanally. Warning some signs have been removed by locals to help hide these locations, so pay attention to your map.Allmost all cribs are visible form boat because of clear water. I have fished there 3 years in a row and found that when it rains the fish really turn on to biting. Did this to me again in this trip. You must use real clear line. I used nt silverthread green 4lb,and gamagatsu hooks black no jig head or anything just straight minnow. Right now crappie are in 8-10 feet of water laying eggs. You must find those brush piles to catch them. Be extremely quiet when searching around for brush piles. Depending on what time im may you will probably hit it good. The fish should be back on brush piles by then. The depth we caught most of them were 12 feet down. Well good luck and hope this helps. My spelling and typing are terrible.

Hey there SemperFi83, I used to fish that lake several years ago. I have a gps file with some of my old waypoints and you're welcome to it if you use a gps. Just email me [email protected] and I'll forward it to you.

Like the others have said, it is a very clear water lake and fishing shallow might be 20 foot sometimes. There are high steep banks and at the bottom of every crevace where water runs off will be a brushpile of some degree. If you change your mind about Norfork and come a few how further south, I can help get you on some fish on these lakes.

At THEE OAKS RESORT the new owners are great and very helpful. The resort was excellent, only resort with cabins on the lake and views to die for. They also have a trolley that takes you right to the dockfrom your cabin. (approx 230feetlong). If you plan on going please give them a call at 1877 636-3541 and tell them that Tom and Melissa sent you.You will not be disapointed.
