Default Morgan Point today 4/1 (Pics)

Kathy and I went to Morgan Point today. We got to fishing about 8:30am, and my first cast I caught a 1 1/2 lber. Thought it would be a great day, we did alright, keeping 15 good crappie. The size wasn't what it has been, the big females must have went shallow to lay some eggs. The females we caught today didn't have the bulging bellies like last week, and their egg sacks were small, must have laid some eggs. Also caught 3 male in the deep, something I have'nt been doing. Going to try them again tomorrow, will post a report.

    Todays catch.

The 1.5 lber and a male black crappie.

Hope everyone had a great day.

Looks like y'all had a good day. It's tough to catch one immediately then wait awhile for the next. Glad to see some males moving back out.

I have heard alot of your fish catching skills from several guys you work with. I want to become better and catch more than 1 each time I go. Can you give any info?

Hello da Beast, welcome to the site, good to have you. Look forward to you posts. After todays fishing I don't know if I should be giving any fishing advise. I mainly fish roadrunners using a cast and receive method any time the water temp is above 60 degrees. If I know where there is underwater structure or can see structure thats what I like to do. If I'm fishing a new place I like to slow troll with several jigs out and try to locate fish. If I find fish and can see the structure they're attracted to on the depth finder then I'll bach of and cast to them. Hope this helps some. The best way to learn is read on crappie.com and ask questions, there are a lot of good fishermen on here. You can also learn a lot and have a good time at Crappie Camp. Try to join us there.

    Talking Funny Joke...

    Question:
What do the fish that L.A. catches all have in common...??

    (scroll down)

    (drumroll please......)

    Answer:
They were caught in the Busch's in the water, then placed in the Busch's in the frozen cubed water....!!!

LOL, I know it's corny, I just had to say it.....Have a great day/week, Caleb (MM)
