    Default Harris Brake

A friend and I went to Harris Brake yesterday and didn't do any good at all on crappie, and we tried every thing at about every depth in a lot of different locations, but we didn't run into any one else who was catching anything. I guess that front that blew through Sat. messed them up, but the water surface temp was 67 to 71 degrees. The man at the bait shop there said they had not gone to the banks yet and also that previously People had been catching them about 2 ft. deep in 8 -10 ft. of water.

My buddy had done well there in the past, and I was really impressed at how good the lake looked and want to try it again. Does any one have any tips, comments or suggestions about Harris Brake?

    Default Harris Brake??

Where is Harris Brake...?? It seems to me with water temps that high you would be nailing them...?? I am not sure where this location is but here in NWA on Beaver Lake we have been catching them in 2' deep in about 3-9' of water, so yeah...that is a good depth to start at, then you just work your way around the permiter of an area you want to fish, moving deeper as you come back across? That is a good method to use when you are unsure where they are....maybe even do a little trolling to find that deeper water male out there...won't catch as many but I bet my dead dog's collar that it's the best way to catch the BIG BOYS....proven it time and time again...good luck! It is just south of Perryville. We fished everywhere from the bank to the middle of the lake from 18" to 6' deep. We were graphing a lot of fish at 5'. We tried minnows, jigs, and jigs & minnows using 12 different color jig bodies. And NO ONE was catching any. I don't believe you could troll as that lake is a solid forest. You couldn't motor faster than an idle, and we were still hitting a lot of trees.

We went out there a little while back and did not do very well. Man what are you talking about STUMPS. We got high centered on a couple and my daughter thought that was the coolest thing since the last roller coaster she was on. ROUND AND ROUND you go. It sure does look like you should be able to haul in the Crappie. Used to have a high school teacher that had a place up there and was kind of like CEB, always seemed to be going fishing and always seemed to be catching fish. PLEASE let us know if you hear of anyone doing any good there. I would like to go back.
