Default Conway was on FIRE today.....

Was out the door and on my way to work when I decided to go fishing instead. Went back to the house, hooked up the boat and threw my stuff in the truck. Headed to Gold Creek on Conway. First place I fished was under the steel bridge at the head of the pool. After no luck for 30 minutes, I motored further in the pool and anchored......it was on! I haven't had that much fun in years!!!! I, honest to goodness must have caught close to 80 fish. I got my limit of fish over 10 inches with one REAL good slab. I took pics but will have to post tomorrow once I get to work. It was absolutely awesome. I had boats all around me and I caught almost every one of my fish on just one jig. I never had to change out. I caught tons of small 4-6 inch fish, but was able to get my limit of 10-15 inchers. I had people all around me trying to catch em' but didn't have what I was throwing. The sad thing is that the same thing happened to me last year and that is how I found out about this jig. I bet I could have sold em' for $5 or more for just one jig. I'll post pics tomorrow. :D :D :D

Sounds like you had a good day, way to go.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

Glad you found 'em. I assume that you were using the Dynamax jig?

And you better be glad you didn't have Helms with you. During our first trip together out there, he said..."Do you ever get tired of the folks staring at you?":D Still laughin' about that one...

I love it when that happens. As I have said a few times before. "Sometimes I am the boat, most of the time I ain't". But, you sure get popular when you are the only one that looks like he knows what he is doing.
Awesome report!!! I hope I make it there some time Saturday. The job will probably get in the way. I will be confused what to fish for though.

CEB, you hit the nail on the head. Dynamax jig. Black and Chart. Man was that the key. Outfished anything else 20 to 1.

Hey Gooch, not sure if I'll be there this weekend, unless it's real early in the morn. I don't really like battling those crowds. After seeing several boats move in on me yesterday, I might just wait until the crowds die down. It was funny with me catching those fish and trying to keep my rod down and not let the other boats notice I had another one on. But boy did I feel like a kid in a candy shop....wide eyed and bushy tailed.........If anyone else is planning on going there this weekend, maybe I'll go just to meet some of these guys.

Dynamax.....?? Seeing that black/chart. is the HOTT color on Beaver 99% of the time, I need to check into these? What action is the jig? Curly tail, beaver tail, spiral tail, wooly tail......hair jig, just curious....? Where can I find these? If locally, I may snag a few on the way out this w/e....although they have been hot enough on beaver to catch them on bubble gum on a hook! MM

Chris, I am glad you found that comment amusing. It is the truth. I am not sure if they were staring at the torture looking device dangling off the front of your boat, the two fine looking men sitting on buckets with a perfectly good seat thrown in the bottom of the boat or the fact the we were catching fish and they weren't. It was probably a little bit of all three.
