Thread: Little maumelle

Going to try little maumelle today and tomorrow. Hope it turns out good. If not, thinking about trying nimrod or conway. went to LM on monday and did not have any luck in the timber or close to the bank. Anyone have any ideas on how this weather is going to effect them this weekend? Hope to see some of you out there.

I'll either be down there this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon. I can't really help you on finding 'em, as this will be my first actual fishing trip down there in quite some time. If you see a camo crestliner with 13' poles hangin' off the bow...stop by and give me a hollar.

Where have you been trying?

Been putting in at River valley and running up river a couple miles into the heavy timber. Dont know a whole lot about the LM. have any suggestions?

Ceb, you gonna be out today? yesterday afternoon was not to good. caught a few but they were all males and they were all small. Gonna go back and try to do something else. Whatever I am doing has not seemed to be working.

I would try either the Ranch or the railroad trussel. I am pretty new to the Little Maumelle myself but after giving up on fighting the crouds by the 430 ramp, started going up stream where you said you been trying. Have had pretty good luck up river. I think I am going to head out there now and see what I can scare up. Hope to see you out there.

Ventured out to the lower end of lil maumelle late this afternoon. Lots of boats out this afternoon. I ended up finding a few fish mostly on the bottom in 10' of water. Caught a nice male and a couple of nice females. The average size was pretty good. I caught around 8 or so keepers and released about half a dozen. I caught the biggest one at dusk in 5' of water, and she weighed 2lbs. I'd already given away the few fish that had caught, so I let her go to make some babies. I hope the bite improves.
