LA, I also wanted to add that the sunrise pictures and the one of you holding those two slabs would be nice in the Crappie.com calendar....I think the entry deadline was last year though, haha. Just thought I'd tell you that. MM

beats a good day at work.
Jerry
Mister, you are catching some good fish.
I had to work yesterday. No fishing for me today. I'm going to go catch some of CEB's crappie at Horseshoe in the morning.
Jerry love the post. I showed my wife the pics and she said she wants to use them for her screensaver.
Keep up the good work.
Jerry, I had a great time on the lake with y'all yesterday. But like I said...the ride back in to the launch was the best part. I was sweatin' bullets out there...:D
And Rusty...I hope you take it easy on the crappie out at Horseshoe. And speakin' of Horseshoe...I caught the first couple minutes of a show the other day with pro bass dude (can't remember his name right now) from Marion. They were out there fishin' Horseshoe....Did anyone else catch the rest of that show?

What part of the lake were yall fishing?? I don't guess I ever saw either of yall. Also, how big is that lake?? I ran down it for a little while just lookin, but I never made it to the end. It looked like it just kept going. I made it to some cabins on the left and a house on the right. How much farther does that lake keep going?? If I would have filled my gas tank before I left, I would have found out.
Being just a guess, I would figure that it is at least a 7 mile ride to the very lower end. The standing timber gets really thick about in the middle, and you have to snake through it. Once you get out of all that standing timber, the lake really opens up. There are some attractor sets down there on the lower end.
I hate it that I didn't get to meet you. Gooch said that you had my number, and I wondered if you had made it out there, but no way to get in touch or know what kind of boat you were in...maybe I'll see you out there next time
Well, I didn't get down there until late. I woke up Saturday morning with a flat on my truck. I had to put the spare on and then go and get the flat fixed. Needless to say, it wasn't a good start to the day. I made it through all the standing trees in the middle I guess. I snaked around through there. I remember seeing something like an old pier or something around that part. I kept on going until I saw some cabins or houses. Thats about as far as I got. Does it keep on going alot farther??
well i decided to travel down to morgan point and join you guys saturday. i think i may have seen ceb at the ramp but i was not sure because i have never met him before. it was a tough day for me. i had not been there in at least 20 years so i remembered nothing about the lake. i started off fishing the bank and only caught some yellow bass, bream and gar. then i found some standing timber in about 10 foot of water and caught a few crappie. i was fishing about 8 foot deep and ended up losing more than i caught for some reason. they were biting really light, sometimes not at all as they would just hold the jig, and i lost a lot of them about half way up. after reading the other posts i really wish i had gone down further toward the other end. i rode down to where there were some fish structures and some cabins and turned around. how much futher is it to the end? i did bring home several with the largest 2lb 6oz and another 2lb 2oz. i caught all females except for 1 big black male. i got my wife to go with me and she is 5 months pregnant so we did not stay all day but we had a good time.
