Hi Guys
New to the board but thought I would drop a line to tell you the action on Lake Over cup is getting hot. Went Thrusday and Friday caugth limit on thrusday, slowed down after the front came threw but we still managed to boat 11 good keepers. The size is amazing out of this lake averaged 1 1/2 and and about 6 2lbs. I had to go back to work but boy it really should be good next week if it warms.![]()

First post on the boards and comes out smokin with a great report. Welcome to the boards from south Louisiana. Lots of great people on the Arkansas board. and if you get bored, you can check out the La board, we got some good people too.......lol..... Congrats on your catch.
You can't fish with a hung line!
Smoke, thanks for the report. I will have to give Overcup a try next week. Never fished it before. Where were you fishing? How deep and what were you using? Thanks for any tips.
Mike
How deep were you catching them, in what kind of cover if any, by the bank or out, minnows or jigs, etc.? Please give us some details.
Hey there guys sorry it took so long. I put in on the upper ramp and was fishing straight out from the boatramp there is two fish atractors posted out from the ramp. There is a old creek bed running close to it I was pushing 2 12ft poles 18inches deep. I would just troll from one to the other make a turn and come back. I was using jigs salt and pepper on one and red, white and chart. on the other both tipped with pink crappie nimbles. Make sure you get there earlier than the crowd or you with have to wait. I was putting in a 6 in the morning. And trolling in the dark and doing very well. The would stop biting real good around 9:00 in the morning. But we one still pick one up every now and again. That was Friday. But Thursday before the front I had my limit by 10am. If you go down watch for the stumps. But I enjoyed every minute I was down the met some nice folks down there also. Good fishing. Wished I was still home I would meet you there. Well I would be there now who am I kidding.

one other thing I was told the evening bite was doing really well to but I never fished in the evening. One more when I said you would have to wait in the other post. I meant to say you would have to wait to put your boat in. Sorry I get all bent out of shape when I start talking fishing. I thanks all for the kind welcome to Crappie. Com

Thanks Smoke, I will have to try to get over there and give them a shot.
SP,
Good to hear Overcup is fishing good again. I use to live a few miles north of the lake and fished it almost daily during the winter and spring on my way home from work and weekend mornings. I sure miss crappie fishing on Overcup. It CAN be one of the hidden jewels that most people skip over when thinking Crappie.
