    Default Has anyone......?

Fished in any of the lakes in Henry Gray/Hurricane Lake WMA so far this spring?

Although I'm catchin plenty of fish at home, me and my fishin partner have been hankering to break out the jig poles and flip a Shinnee Hinnee next to a Cypress tree.... and that is not far from the house!

Any general reports on the area would be appreciated! If not, I may just give ya'll one after next weekend!

    Default Hurricane???

Hey Chevy, I asked the same question last year with no results. With the river staying up as long as it did the fishing should be good if you can find the fish. Good luck to ya. grizzly

Fish Big Hurricane and go to the left and across the bank when looking at the lake. You will see a creek channel come in there. Fish 12" deep with a white/chart. jig on ambassador head for action. Keep line tight and you will pick up several 1/2 to 3/4 pounders. Bite is fast and furious, but no slabs. If water is muddy upgrade to a yellow/white curly tail jig same depth. watch for snakes!!!!!

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the help!

I was figuring the same thing about most any of the White River lakes this year, the river getting up like it did surely could not have done anything but help make for a good spring crappie bite!

I'll post a report if we go!

Might give Honey Lake a shot, smaller than Big Hurricane and not as far a drive on the gravel. Mallard pond has always been good too. If the lakes are crowded might think about Glaise creek. Good luck.
