Hey Chris:

The fishing has been tough on Greeson since it came up 3-feet. I think the crappie are still spawning but since the water temperature is getting into the upper end of the range they can spawn I think they are spawning deep - like around 8 to 10-feet. We're still seeing quite a few ripe, runny eggs in most of the females. It's been a tough spawn for them but I think they've had opportunity to get several batches of eggs off. We've had fairly stable water level for several good periods so that's been a big help to them. With the lake up to full pool now the fry have plenty of cover and forage so that's in their (our) favor.

If the water temps continue to rise the spawn will be over pretty soon and the bite will improve considerably when they settle into a post spawn pattern. They've lost a lot of weight through the spawn this year and will be trying to fatten back up.
