Thread: Good Luck at Lil' Maumelle

Hope you guys have a safe and fun time Saturday. Wish I could be there but I've had a flare up of R.A. in my knee joints and hands. Going to take it easy, medicate, and rest up this weekend. May try to get out and try em' next week.

Thanks guys, Nimrod and I are knocking the idea around of a combo crappie/ baited catfish hole trip. I would definately suggest that we do this the first part of June as this is the best month for cats and the crappie are really stacked up on all the 6 to 10 foot brushpiles. Nimrod and I will bait a few good cat spots for about a week before the trip and I will put out numbered markers on some of the better producing C.O.E. brushpiles. If we have time we might try to put out a few new bamboo condos also. We have a pretty good map available at the local bait shop that shows the bottom of the lake and all the channels.
I talked to Slipcork about renting the covered pavilion at Carden Point. It has electricity, ceiling fans, and a large built in grill. It's nice and rents for 50 bucks a day. If we decide to do this I will make the arrangements on this end to reserve the pavilion.
I must warn you that my wife will probably cook for two days to make fixin's, cakes, and pies. She made the cake in the pictures of the first Crappie Camp with the pictures of Jerry and Darryl on it!
Also, Carden Point is an excellent ramp to launch at as the vehicles would be in full view for anyone wanting to stay and nightstalk.
Think about it and we'll see what we can put together.
