    Default Fish-n-Eat on March 17

Allright folks. It's time to start getting stuff organized for our 2nd get-together. Everyone is welcome to come fish, eat, and bs with lots of good folks. We plan to fish the Little Maumelle River, which is located in West Little Rock.

To include the most folks, we plan to meet up at the Little Maumelle ramp at NOON on Saturday, March 17. We will be fishing for the afternoon. Come into the launch and eat around 5pm. Then, some of us are going to stick around for a nightstalk. Whoever wants to stick around for the nightstalk is more than welcome.

For the eats...I can cook up some crappie (that's if I can catch any this coming week!) for Saturday afternoon. I guess we will do hushpuppies and fries. If anyone wants to bring a homemade dessert (Flyflinger), that would be great. The good thing is that cooking crappie won't put too big of a dent in our cookie jar money that we gathered last time. This is just an idea. If anyone else has any ideas or input, let us know.

Be sure to bring a lawn chair or two.

The weather forecast is still way too far out to be decisive. Once again, the only reasons we will cancel or move locations is in the event of river flow, winds, and/or severe weather.

Our last get-together was a great success. The food was good, the company was good, and well, the fishing and the weather stunk...but hey...at least the fishing part can't get any worse.:D If you want to hang around some good folks that love to crappie fish, then please come on down March 17. I look forward to seeing some folks again, and hopefully meeting a few new faces.

Map of the way to Ramp at Little Maumelle River...

The ramp is right beside where I-430 crosses the AR river. Get off at the Cantrell exit and go West. Turn RIGHT at the first red-light onto River Mountain Road (RED RECTANGLE). Go down large hill right beside I-430. Go over RR tracks and bear left down to launch (BLUE RECTANGLE).

I think I can find a few chairs around the house. We really looked helpless and lost last time standing around waiting on Gooch to get the burgers ready.
Don't forget to bring your this time.

CEB, do you think there will be room for a nonboater, the price of gas prohibits pulling the boat 300 miles round trip. I am sure Lesa can fix up one or more (depending on how many guys show up) of those deserts. I'll have to leave here by 0900 to be there at noon. But if someone has room in their boat I'll be honored to fish with you all again. It was really fun last time. Tell Gooch I made one of those lights he gave to Bobberwatcher. Now that I have my tim problem solved, I am hoping to get in some reel fishing next week. Don't dare head out there on a weekend, you wouldn't be able to swing a cat. I may try Sunday night, but I have never drove a boat at night so I need lots of practice.

Man I wish I could join you guys, but we're finally moving to our new house that day. The good news is though, I will only be 2-3 minutes from Lake Conway and ready to go about any time. I do look forward to meeting you guys in the near future. Lots of experience in both fish catching and fish stories.....Can't wait!

Chris, count me in. I might try to talk my neighbor out of some of those catfish filets he was telling us about. I will also try to get my wife to bake some cookies. I will let you know what I can get done.

I will be at River Valley Bait at 6:30am if anyone is going to be fishing early. I can't make it late. Let me know if you are going to be at the Little Maumelle that early and I will find you.

BTW, if anyone has been out there this week, could you give me a depth where they are. I don't want to be fishing at 8ft and they are at 3ft. You guys can save me some time.

Bobberwatcher, if you have space, can I ride with you again?

Don't worry with draggin' that boat all the way down here. You shouldn't have any trouble finding room in a boat.
