All of that is gone now, I guess. I was born in 1969 and have fished at White Oak since I can remember and Nick's Landing and Ruth's Motel don't ring a bell. Sorry. I do remember the bait shop on the hill at the levy separating the two lakes was called Jack's Landing. We went in there a lot of times to buy shiners and snacks; my Uncle George Stratton used to buy sardines and saltine crackers and I usually picked out a candy bar and a Coke. It's a small church now.
