    Default Newbie lookin for help

I am new to the board and I am relatively new to crappie fishing. I am looking for places to fish around my area. I am in Searcy but am not afraid to travel if fish are biting. Thanks for the help.

    Welcome quackmaster,

You are on a hotspot up there. I had a cabin in Hurricane for a few years. there are lakes in there that if they get flooded during the winter/spring the crappie move in the lakes in there. Plus, there is a little lake at Bradford that
is full of fish. Any of the White river lakes. Get you the book from the AR Game and Fish that has the lakes and boat ramps by county. White and Woodruff Co has almost the most boat ramps in the state.

Do you duck hunt around there?

Welcome Quackmaster. I am realitively new to crappie fishing. Hang around with these guys and you will get to know more stuff than you can stuff in your head. These guys are good, and they are very helpful. Where are you? I am in North Cent. Arkansas around Yellville. Bull Shoals is my home water, with Beaver being within striking distance. Of course I am not adverse to heading down to Lake Conway on occasion. Check out the posts on the next nightstalk. I went to the last one and it was a blast. Didn't get many fish, but got to meet some swell guys.

quackmaster_ar Welcome to the boards from down south Louisiana. You can learn alot on this site, and the Arkansas gang is a real helpful group.
You can't fish with a hung line!

Welcome aboard. Being that you are new to crappie fishing, you should come on down to the get-together on the Little Maumelle, March 17. You will get to see a lot of techniques and set-ups.

    Welcome Quackmaster, from lower Arkansas.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

Thanks for the info and I would love to make the trip on the 17th but got a 3 month old and weekend fishing is just about impossible, have to help with the kids. Slipcork I do duck hunt some but haven't hunted hurricane, mostly fields around Newport area. Need to get up around Bradford sounds like.
