My depthfinder is a Humminbird of some sort--I think--I'll have to check and see just what it is I've got.

As far as Burnt Cane--which we call 9-mile, this year hasn't been too good for me yet. The last year and a half or so was great though. With the recent rains, the lake is pretty muddy. It's better closer to the ramp, but gets muddier the farther you go. The latest report I've heard from one local that fishes it regularly is they are near the bank, in about a foot of water. Okay---There's my honeyhole tip---am I in now???? By the way, the local wildlife officers are checking fishermen pretty close out there now. There have been several reports of folks catching over the limit for the last year or two, and they're watching. Catch a mess, count 'em up, and go!

What kind of hunting forum are you the moderator for?

Hey polebender, here is an excellent article written by Jerry Blake, moderator of the AR board. He gives in-depth instructions for getting the most out of your depthfinder. Best thing to do is print these instructions off, take 'em to the lake with you, and spend a couple of hours fine-tuning your set-up on the water. http://www.crappie.com/gr8vb3/showthread.php?t=27679
