With the increasing technology and proficiency of anglers, angler harvest of harvest oriented species has got to be on the rise. It makes me ponder when this new technology crosses the line between being a useful tool to help anglers find fish and when it starts to lead to over exploitation of some species. It seems to me that we are on the verge of crossing this line in the near future and resource managers will have to make some hard decisions (probably not popular) to protect certain fisheries. I don't think that we have crossed this line yet, but I think that most resonable anglers will agree that it is on the horizon.
