No , I have talked with you before and you even gave me some tips on fishing gold creek. This fella, if he reads this he knows who he is. No wake means just that back in the pools!

wish AGFC would put out some "No Wake" signs all up and down the creek and inside the pool itself. Got a "few" really dumb butts that are totally inconsiderate. Most though, are very considerate of others.

We have been told by by our local Enforcement officers that the regulatory process wold have to be used to put up "No Wake Zone" signs. Basically all we can post are those yellow signs with the small writing that explains the boating law. I know they are hard to read and just about useless. The state boating law says that boats can not create hazardous wake (greater than 5 mph) within 100' of a recreation area, dock, pier, or anchored boat. This can be found on page 32 of the fishing guide book. If I were yall, I would take pictures and/or video of the violators and send to the Enforcement Division. Make sure to get their boat registration number.

Also if someone wanted to submit a proposal for the next regulation cycle to get turn the creek and cove into No Wake Zones, submit this proposal to me in an email (email address found in signature). Please include as much info as possible (upper and lower boundaries, justification, etc...). I will submit at the next regs meeting in January.

I used to plane off periodically in the creek until i noticed some stob ups just feet away that luckily missed my gearbox. Nowadays im older and enjoy the idle back in there but yea i still see folks who prefer the gas it til it breaks method.

We were behind them in the tan stick-steer Seaark. They came within a foot of my boat when they passed us in the creek. Thought they might have been wanting to fish out of my livewell. I didn't see it but I heard them open it up. That was just plain stupid. Must not have caught any fish...lol!

When you start trying to pack that many people in a small area and start advertising the fish are biting, It is gonna bring out all kinds of people from the wood work, things like this happen. If you are going to fish gold creek you have this to contend with. Sad but True, Just Don't get to ruffled over it, it could ruin your whole gold creek fishing experience it is just one of the many experiences you will get to enjoy. Tight Lines.

Yep advertising on social media, word of mouth, and Smart Phones in today's world will quickly just kill a fishing spot over the years. I have grown tired of seeing good fishing just get pulverized by these things. I know it sounds funny coming from me, but I admit when I am wrong. That's why you don't see many reports from me nowadays. I will post some pics but I sure won't tell where and how I caught them, unless I am on a big lake where there is no body around to see me catch them in a location, I may give you a lake name, but that is about it for me now. I hold no ill will tho to folks who want to make reports and/or advertise because that is part of their income. Lord knows i did my far share to kill spots in the past. Not anymore tho.

    Default Gold Creek report

I remember a few years back EVERYBODY was giving advise, locations, posting pics, and techniques. All everyone talked about was Growing The Sport. We grew it alright. Now we have 100 boats fishing every spot we shared and now THEY post all that info on social media like they figured it out themselves. We've grown our sport to the point that it's hard to go catch a few fish and not have a crowd around you. I like fishing where I can relax and enjoy myself without worrying about bumping into another boat. Hard to do in certain places nowadays.

I certainly understand your stance Russ. I for one feel very fortunate that I was able to pick your brain and learn from your posts when you were still more open. Without your help (and others), I would probably still be lost on Lake Conway. It is unfortunate that it has come down to this. This site isn't the same since the Pros no longer share their knowledge in central Arkansas. But I do unstand the reason and I will think twice before posting a fishing report in the future. On thr other hand, it is part of my job to publisize the excelent fisheries that we have in D-10 and surrounding lakes. Hopefully I don't step on anyone's toes by posting results from our sampling. I hope to run into you soon Russ, so that I can watch (and learn) from the Pro in person. Or better yet, i would still like to take uou fishing in my boat to repay you the trip you tlook me on a few years ago. Take care.
