Thread: Bad news...again

Thanks guys. I really do appreciate it. We thought were were out of the woods last time, but looks like we were wrong. Last night was pretty tough. She had a siezure that really took us by surpise. I have never been as scared in all my life. They got her stablized and actually had a spinal tap after our CT scan. Sure enough, bacterial mendingitis. Luckily it isn't the contagious strand so we are now out of isolation. We are having an MRI tomorrow AM and they are going to try to determine how this keeps happening. This will hopefully open the door so we can determine our next course of action. May just be the beginning of it all. Thanks for everyone's kind words. Really appreciate everyone's prayers and thoughts. It is very comforting....

However, on a positive side, we have been extremely lucky that for every problem we have faced, it has been fix-able. Hopefully she will be as good as new within a month. Thanks again you guys, you are the greatest.

I have spent my time up there at Childrens on and off for about 3 yrs. Our prayers are with you.

Sorry to here about your daughter, hope she has a speedy recovery.

We spent many a restless night in hospitals with our youngest son. My wife and I wish you and your family the best. Keep us posted on her condition. We will be praying for her.

Update.. Not a whole lot has changed guys. She is doing better and the antibiotics are really kicking butt. In addition to the bacteria in her spinal fluid, she also has it in her blood. They have her on 2 different antibiotics and are having great success killing it off in both places. Currently, mom and mom-in-law are with her having an MRI and hopefully they can determine where the bacteria is entering her spinal fluid. Several possibilities on why this is happening, but they want to be certain and will run all the tests needed to figure it out. Once again, thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

However, we have been released from intensive care and have been moved to the floor. (room 4728) Not for sure how long we will be here. The last round, we were outta here in 1 week, but don't know this time. Just depends on what all they find.

That's encouraging news Bobberwatcher. We will continue to pray for her.
