    Default Minnow tipping

Do any of y'all routinely try using your jigs tipped with minnows? Today my wife and I went a fishing. She likes using corks with minnows. I like jig fishing. She jumped out in the lead quickly this morning. After about an hour of getting beat I started using minnows hooked thru the lips on my jigs. Then I started catching. We ended up bring 20 home. Had some gooduns. I hated to admit it, LOL, but she caught the biggest, 2 pound even. Had a good day!!!! We were fishing in 6 to 8 foot of water right off the bottom mostly.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. Part of the game is figuring out what they want. I've seen it work too good to the point of not able to catch the big one because the minnow attracted too many little ones.

I use too all the time.It makes a huge difference many days. I finally just about quit taking them now though. But mainly because I experimented so much with artificials of all types and I started using crappie nibbles. With a wide variety of different jig heads and bodies of every style and the nibbles and learning to change up until I find something they bite good...I can catch a lot of fish without them. The other thing is a lot of places have quit selling minnows and their are fewer places to get them. It's not hard to get them mind you but not as many places that use to make it so easy. Also when you spend a lot of money on artificials I am less inclined to spend even more money for minnows.

If I'm single polling nothing but plastic mid south tubes with a slip cork most of my time! Trolling you better have a bucket of minnows!

Seen guys on my home lake try using minnows and not on same spider rig . Both sides caught about the same . May not hurt but sometimes it might make a difference . I only jig fish these days , no spider rigs or minnows . Jig pole and jigs usually work fine minnerless .

My wife and I fish like y'all do. I haven't used minnows for several years but one of the best trips I ever had was a yellow and white jig tipped with a minnow. They were slow without the minnow but with it…
