    Default Greeson

It took all day but we got a good mess. Started about 8:00 and only had a couple in the box by 11:00. Found a lot of fish on some of the same places we caught them last Tuesday but they had the lockjaw bad.

But when they finally turned on we had some good action and caught quite a few on jigs.

That Green Carp in the middle hit a jig and gave us a good fight. It was 3-pounds, 12-ounces and we released it right after we took it's picture.

That's a really nice catch for today Jerry. I'm glad to see someone do good today. Were they deep and what was the water temp. I'm thinking about going to some deep water tomorrow.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

What a good mess of fish! You sure do know how to rub it in. I hope that the boo buckets we put in today pays off half that good.

From the report Jerry gave me over the phone, it sounds like the crappie are starting to move into the creek arms, still relatively deep though. I guess as full of eggs and milt as they are and them staging in the deep tops in the creek arms, we could call it PRE-prespawn, lol. No matter what you call it, it sounds like they are very anxious to do the deed. Of course, surface water temp may fluctuate a degree or two between morning and afternoon, but the first real increase in water temp we have, the males are going to be running into the shallows. Kinda like an advanced party for reconnaissance.

    Hey Jerry:

We caught quite a few from 19 to 22-feet deep and some as deep as 29-feet deep. They were real tight to the cover - down in our bamboo condos - so we got hung up alot going in after them.

I post a daily trip report on my website now at - http://www.actionfishingtrips.com/tripreports.htm - if you ever want to check up on me.

    Hey Doug:

Most of the fish we caught today were on condos we put down in November.

Fine catch, Jerry. There's nothing like surviving a cold day on the water and being well rewarded for it. Perseverance will always make a happy livewell. Glad to know that they are hitting a jig pretty good, but you'd better leave me a few in the water for crappie camp.
