    Default brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Not many fishing in this cold wind here. I got my boat cleaned out yesterday and lake is getting close to normal. My boat was so full of limbs and debris from setting out brush. I had a wheel barrow full of limbs. Setting on go ,maybe soon if the weather will not mess up. Anyone making plans for the weekend ?

Nimrod I had to bite the bullet, and pick this weekend or next as "Valentine weekend". As we have our nightstalk next I was forced into using this one for Valentines. Since when did Valentines become a weekend thing instead of a day anyway? I would like to get my hands on Mr. Valentine and let that candy eatin, flower smellin pansy, know what I think about his holiday.

Keep us posted on Nimrod. I am sure there are many who would be interested in a nightstalk gathering up there when the time and water gets right. I know I would.

Ditto the Valentine thing this weekend. I got $60 invested in a Banquet at church. I know I will use another $75 on some roses next week. I am sure we need some new shoes to go to the banquet with.
Saturday evening is with the boys though. Something called a beast feast at a church in Conway. May be they will serve some decent road kill or something.
Any spare time will be spent finishing off those crepe myrtles. I already have two big piles of brush in front of the house. I gave up segregating stuff for condos. It got to the point I was spending too much time for the condos and that is not what I was there for that day. I have my eye on some willow sapplings at the port that I might use to make some of those dish pan condos I have seen on different threads. I know some deep water in Conway that just might make a good bream or crappie hole in the summer with something different in them.

Planning on going after some walleye on the Spring River Saturday morning. But I have to cut it short because of Valentine's Banquet at church. Oh Well, that's cheaper then dinner at J-boro.

I fished Brewer yesterday. Good day of fishing...bad day of fish catching. Like you Nimrod, I had to clean out a boat load of sticks left from duck hunting. I fished all day and tried everything I could think of (jigs, minnows, trolling, deep, shallow...ect.) and never even got a bite. I had a real good time anyway. The weather was nice for a change and I pretty much had the whole lake to myself. If the lake level stays up it should be a blast jigging the shallow brush when it warms up. I did see some guys going to set out some boo condo's as I was leaving.

I am in the same boat with you gooch. This weekend is V-day weekend for me as well. Here is a thought... Lets go to the same restaraunt at the same time and we can sneak off to the bar and talk fishing... :D Just kidding..... I think..

It's like all other so called holidays , they over commericalize them. It's got people believing they have go out and spend a ton of money most don't have to waste. Worse yet on stuff that will be wilted , wasted , unneeded , and most of all forgotten the next day.
IF YOUR WOMAN NEEDS MATERIAL THINGS TO BE CONVINCED YOU CARE SOMETHINGS WRONG. It is back to your dating years ,some girls only dated guys with money and nice cars. A old man once told me ''Dogs chase cars and girls who chase cars are dogs ''

I never had much luck night fishing here. I'm usually too worn out from fishing all day. Most of my pole fishing for cats is daytime even.
Well I'm going out this morning and try the Crappie. Wish me luck , not on catching but not freeze'n to death! The lake is almost down , less than 1' above normal and water temps under 40 I figure. But I can't wait any longer cause rain is coming back in the forecast . Will post a report when I thaw out .:D

BRRRRRRRRRR Man it's cold out on the water! I caught a few small ones on a jig. It was slow up river at Nimrod. Talked to my nieghbor and he said it was slow in main lake to. The water was 40 to 42 most spots. When it warms up some I'll try it again.
