Thread: The bite was right!!! report*

First it was a great day to be on the water the weather could not have been much better the wind was calm the sun bright and the bite was right! It's no secret I'm fishing lake Dardanelle aka the BIG D I call it my favorite lake and we all know it gets it fair share of pressure. I've learned to catch fish consistently on this lake you have to be welling to put I the time scanning new areas of the lake learn the contours and marking brush and structure on them. I've also learned not to over look the obvious like those places right under our noses. It's easy to assume these places must be fish out well I was fortunate enough to find another one of this places and it was loaded with fish of all sizes I can't tell you how many 7 to 8" fish I caught. I did find a couple of spots that were holding some bigger fish. I've been experimenting with colors and rig setup as far as colors go I've used every color under the rainbow then it dawn on me Midsouth has a jig with every color of the rainbow in it the 813 it was the winner of the day the 2012 and the 712 did good too! The best rig I've come up with is simply putting the jig on the hook I've noticed the jig gives it some buoyancy allowing the minnow to be more active!
