Starting a new>
I am currently staying on Lake Tawakoni in TX. It is just south of Greenville and said to be the best Catfish Lake in TX. Have caught a few crappie and a few Hybrids. The starting new part, I was getting pretty sick, I had been diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in Nov 2014, a progressive lung disease with no treatment and no cure. I went through 14 months of testing to see if I was a good candidate for a lung transplant. On February 8th, 2016 I had a bilateral lung transplant at Baylor University Hospital in Dallas, TX. We brought our camper out to Lake Tawakoni to stay untill the Transplant team releases me to go back home. By the way home is Lake Greason and the recent posts from DP and others on Greason is making me some what homesick. I just upgraded my depth finder to a Helix 9 and really looking forward to learning to use it. As for recovery from my surgery, I am blessed and highly favored by God, I give him all the credit. I am doing absolutly great to only be about 10 weeks post transplant. I asked the Doctor the other day when I could start fishing again, they really do not want me to because of the possibility of getting a bacterial infection, he told me you can go today but you cannot bait your hook or take the fish off, I told my wife she was going to be a busy girl. We went over to a cove by a Marina the other afternoon and I caught a nice crappie, she was sitting in a chair nearby and there was a man fishing nearby watching us, my wife seeing I had caught one, jumped up and came over to take the fish off, I looked over at the man fishing and said that is a good wife, he said she sure is, but he did not know the whole story, I thought it was kind of funny. All of this sickness forced my retirement after 31 years on Dec. 31st, so now with a recycled set of lungs, good health I look forward to a lot of great Crappie fishing in the future.
