I have a lowrance HDS 7 touch. I love it. The only thing I would change is size of unit to a 10 or 12. One of these days I'll get someone to show me how hard it is to operate! Lol. This unit does a lot that I have not used and many features that I am learning every so often. It sets up fish ready out of the box. You then can fine tune the settings, to your preference. I chose lowrance over hummingbird because of quality of picture. The Garmins are supposed to be a little better, from hear say. I don't know. That's my take. I will stick with lowrance until something comes along better by the time I upgrade. Looking ahead is a neat feature but I can't justify that much money for something like that yet. It may be worth it for big tourney fishermen. purchase what you wish and settle in it and trust it. All these units have come a long ways from 15 years ago.
