that kill switch cord goes hand in hand with the life jackets. had a guy a year or so back on one of the coe's here in sippi get thrown out and his boat circled and ran over him. I think he lost a leg and lucky he didn't lose his life.

DEAD AS FRIED CHICKEN
Wow, I think I was right there beside you and launched next to this poor soul. I was putting in my kayak at the launch and noticed a nice guy getting ready to take his kids fishing. The girl and the boy were were playing on the dock, in life jackets, while he got everything ready. I saw a couple there at the dock tinkering with their outboard while he picked up his kids after parking.
I rounded the corner of the peninsula about the time he took off, then about 30 minutes later while I was fighting the yellow bass in those boat slips on the other side I heard the sirens. In a short time I believe the entire county water rescue squad was there, including about three or four game warden vehicles. Unbelievable, and how tragic.
I have to embarrassingly admit it made me put on my life jacket. I always carry one on my seat but seldom wear it. I'm going to have to start yelling at myself each time I don't put it on.
That was me tinkering with the motor and yea they launched right there beside you...
He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Life jackets and kill switches. I have now made it a rule for myself if on pad wear both.
