Good job Matt you boys ripped-em. It was probably the cowboy hoodie that made the difference. I am also the proud owner of some Dallas gear and maybe I should wear some on our next fishing trip LOL.

I've always heard "Wind out of the east fish bite the least". I guess the truth is fish bite the best when you're on the water fishing.
If we did what was most important in life there would be a shortage of Bibles.................and fishing poles

I have had some great days while fishing in an East wind. Ive also had some bad ones! I think that what effects the bite is not the wind, but the pressure and frontal systems that are associated with it. I have found that when these conditions first start, ie. high pressure, North or East wind etc., the bite can really suffer as the fish try to adjust to said conditions. If it is a prolonged system, the fish can become acclimated and will begin to feed again. You just have to adjust with them. You would think that once that East wind stops, or changes to the South that it would help the bite. BUT they may actually shut down until they get acclimated to the changing conditions. Once they do, you may have to change with them, (color, depth, speed, location,) to stay on the bite.

The fish that were caught when the wind was out of the East wanted it dead still and right on the bottom. When it shifted to the South, we had to drift with the wind at over 1mph, which brought the baits up several feet in the water column!

That "used" to be my lucky fishing sweatshirt. It is now relagated to fish cleaning sweatshirt. My new lucky fishing sweatshirt is a Crappieholic Thump Addiction. Even though I say that I'm not superstitious, I catch myself wearing the same clothes I did the last time I caught a good mess. I guess it is from my old baseball playing days. I had a lucky undershirt that I wore under my jersey for 4 strait years! It wasn't much of a shirt the end of my senior year!
