Default Nice Warm Up for the Winter Thumpage

I got a good warm up with my buddy Chris. We caught easily over 100 crappie. Most were dinks and under 10". We started at one lake and the parking lot was empty and we had the lake to ourself. That should have been our sign to go some where else but we launched and I caught a nice speck almost right away. Unfortunately that was the only one and we didn't stay long. We trailer the boat and fished Conway (not Gold Creek). We had a great day of drizzly cold weather. It was good to get back on the water (not working)! Jacob was mad that I didn't take him with us.

I forgot to mention that we were using Midsouth tubes trimmed CrappiePro style (of course). If you don't do this to your tube jigs, you are missing out on some lakes. It really makes a difference. The man knows what he is talking about. Thanks Russ!

Nice fish and a great picture.

Nice specks Matt, I just posted a tread on a trimmed tube, before I even saw this. We must think alike. I would hate to take the trimmed Jig secret to my grave. Just some things we should share for otherS to use in the crappie world, after were gone. I would like to see a younger crappie fisherman one day "SAY to his Son" "I ust to know an Ole Pro and he showed me how to trim a jig like this" Fish on!!! I have had my time with trimming my jigs like this. It works and is deadly on the end of a jig, spider rig or long lining POLE. Just gives the jig more appeal in clearer shallower water especially.

Yeah, I saw your post and it reminded me to say what kind of jigs we were using and the CP modification. Thanks!
