I was fortunate enough attend the two Spring Camps at Lake Dardanelle that you and the Angels put on and was amazed at the organization and coordination efforts that were required for a successful Camp. After attending the two Spring Camps and seeing how the camps brought together Crappie fisherman and their families from all over Arkansas , my fishing partner and I were inspired to come back to Oklahoma and try to duplicate your efforts. We used your schedule of events and format to organize the first ever Crappie Camp in Oklahoma. We held our first Oklahoma Spring in June of 2014 and had over 130 folks and their families attend! Since then we have had two Fall Camps, one Winter Camp, one Summer Camp, a Spring Camp and are now planning another Winter Camp for February, 2016 and a Geezer Camp. Thanks again for allowing us to use your work and efforts (could you loan us the Angels?).
At both of the Arkansas Spring Camps at Lake Dardanelle, we met some of the best people in this country. I have fond memories of sitting and talking with Billy E's dad...what a great and interesting person. We met and talked with many others, DRPEPPER,Conway, NIMROD and Creekslick to name a few. Also, meeting Billbob from Indiana was an experience to say the least...to our surprise he showed up at our first Camp at Lake Eufaula. Okies weren't too sure how to take him especially after he called all of us Gubers! We survived Billbob.
Hoping that the 2016 Arkansas Spring Camp works out, I plan on attending and am encouraging several other Okies to join me. As with everyone, timing and location will be important. Please excuse the lengthy reply, but I wanted everyone to know how the Arkansas Crappie Camps have influenced the Oklahoma folks.....looking forward to seeing everyone in the Spring....dave
