Default A few pics from Larto

Had a perfect weekend of fishing. Gooch and I got off to a rough start in the bayous on Saturday morning. We knew that the wind wouldn't let us slo-troll the main lake. Came in Sat. at lunch and Steve (Bamafan) told us that they were startin' to "turn on" out in the main lake. He was also kind enough to let us use his chain to drag. It all turned around from there, thanks to Steve's chain. I owe you one buddy.

We ended up with 38 keepers from about 1 to dark on Saturday. The bite was a little bit tougher on Sunday morning, but I figure that we managed another 20 or so. Johnny (Jlaughlin) was kind enough to take some fish off our hands. I think that he could really tell I wasn't up to cleaning all of them. I sure did appreciate you takin those fish while I was out cleaning in the cold mist this morning.:D

Enough of the small talk, on to the pics...

This was the weather scene pretty much all weekend. It threatened rain the whole time, but luckily it held off for the majority of the weekend.

Everyone drifting the upper end of the main lake.

Gooch with a goodun'. I think that he is actually quite fond of the hat...

Diversion Canal Road on the way back from Larto. It was a beautiful ride through there...

And, not to mention all of the cattle. Made for a good photo-op.:D

    Default A few after pics

The 38 keepers from Saturday afternoon.

Almost all of them were loaded up with eggs.

This little guy sure did enjoy the fine eating of caviar...:D

Big fish from Saturday (14.5" and 1.15lb)...

She sure was thick with eggs...

And finally, an extra-large haul from absolutely majestic larto lake, she will lie in my memories for a long, long time...

    Chris,
It takes a lot of faith to go down there & camp with weather reports as bad as they were. Would have enjoyed going down there w/ you guys. probably would have learned a lot from the seasoned vets of crappie fishing. nice bunch of fish too.

Thumbs up We enjoyed your company!

Chris/Dale we really enjoyed the weekend. You represented Arkansas well. Looks like you had a nice haul of fish to boot! Maybe I can come up that way sometime and fish with you guys.

Dale don't worry bout them colors they made you wear, I would not have worn them unless it was because of a bet myself!:D

Now I know if guiding fails me, I can change professions and succeed as a fashion designer because I'd have Dale as a model for my new line of fishing clothes and hats called "Goochie".
