    Default Rain !!!!

Guys I'm just little southeast of Searcy and as of 10am we've got 7 inches. I think the fishing should be good when the water goes down-- just might be a while. If you do venture out, be carefull. grizzly

I have watched a navigation bouy go under today since this morning. The river is raging and about 12 higher than it was last Friday.

Nimrod is rising fast it rose 7.75 ' in the last 24 hours! I just checked the web at noon. It is 355.8 ' above sea level and normal pool is 342'. That is 13.8 ' high and still rising fast. I hope I can find my nets with a drag.

Here's some more pics at 556msl. You can compare them to the first ones I posted when the lake was 550msl.

Darryl, you and Jerry need to think about getting some condos in water thats not 70 feet deep and you might catch a few more fish.

With the current conditions of high water and cold you might want to see if you can catch a few on a green timber ice fishing pattern

The CORP says they plan on dropping it a foot a day and they'll probably take it down 13 to 15-feet so it will be where it should be this time of year. It was already too high before all the recent rain.

I posted a report on Greeson, DeGray and Hamilton on my web site - http://www.actionfishingtrips.com/tripreports.htm

Hamilton should straighten out pretty quick since the water level there remained fairly steady but it's going to take a while for the crappie to settle down in DeGray and Greeson I think.

I can understand your frustrations with the high water. Nimrod is now 360+ which is over 18' high. I had to drag up my nets out of almost 50' water ,no channel markers left floating to help locate them. Maybe this high water will help the fishing later. Looking forward to spring. Always hate this time of year, being flood control Nimrod is usually messed up .

Yea ,I caught several Buffalo and a Flathead Catfish. I only have 2 nets out right now. We have to have commercial licence. Helper licence is needed for anyone helping. We had done better before water rose . Last time betwween rises we had a bunch of Buffalo and 3 Flatheads (10 ,14 ,16 lbs ) . The season runs out March 1 ,hope the water is gone quickly. I was hoping to fill my freezer with them Flathead steaks . Then when netting season ends to break out the jiggin pole.:D
