X2 on the cooler temps!! Glad you caught a few. Same kind of bite over here in OK, better be on your game or they beat me!

Went spider rigging yesterday and caught a few crappie and catfish. Catfish wasn't a problem but the crappie bite was very lite. One time I saw the rod tip barely move a couple times then nothing. I picked the rod up to see if I still had a minnow and lo and behold i had a 7 or 8 inch crappie. Even tho the bite was lite the few keepers I caught did fight hard once they were hooked. I'm ready for some cooler temps!

Lightest bite ever for me. I'm feeling a few tiny pecks as they suck out the minners eyeballs or the crappie nibble then if I'm lucky I feel a barely perceptible weight- lift up a little and set the hook on a hitchhiker! Or into brush if I guessed wrong! For the last month this has been the pattern tho now and then one thumps it like its spring in Arkansas! It's generally the 8-9" fish that are slamming the bait hard dang it!
I wonder if a slip cork wouldn't be good at detecting the really light bites? I almost never use them, but have been toying with the idea.

I have been experiencing the light bite on a local lake recently. I'm ready for the thump!
