outboard low pressure grease fittings. Each one of our outboards have low pressure grease fittings that lube the up/down (tilt) and steering pivot that the motor rotates on. Make sure and lube these yearly you will normally see water displaced as lube is pumped in, also how much grease to add---- As a FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic the rule is to pump grease in until nothing but new grease is being pushed out past the grease seals. First moisture will be displaced then dirty old grease will be displaced till the new grease completely fills the cavity. AS IMPORTANT AS GREASING IS TO CLEAN EVERY BIT OF excess exposed grease from all areas after lubing. If not this excess grease will attract dust and dirt and could find its way into the lubricated area causing grime build up and wear/sticking issues.

corrosion- ANY Dis-simalar metals contacting each other will cause "GALVANIC CORROSION" (ON ALUMINUM it shows as a white powder) Make sure when using bolts/washers/nuts you try to keep simalar metals touching each other for example- you DO NOT want a stainless steel washer or bolt against an aluminum part... A stainless steel bolt then an aluminum washer is ok- the only thing to corrode will be the washer NOT the aluminum part or boat.

You can buy pre-greased hubs from a couple different manufacturers to keep in case you need it. Of course tie down engineering vortex huns are the best and have a 100,000 mile warranty but you dont have to go crazy.

better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

If you don't plan on using your boat much during the hot summer, might consider putting a piece of tape over the water exhaust 'pee hole'. Dirt daubers will build nests anywhere, and this is a prime spot (don't ask me how I learned this!). Use a bright color tape so you won't forget to remove it when you get to the lake.
